ContraPoints: Twilight

The debates about romance fiction are not frivolous. They concern the deepest questions in women’s lives. What does happiness look like? What do we want from love, from sex? What does it mean to succeed as a woman? What does it mean to be a woman? What does it mean to be anything? Why is Twilight like this?

Now, some people say that I’m overly fixated on Twilight, that mother is having another episode. And maybe some of those people are my psychiatrist, and maybe they’re trying to put me on mood stabilizers. But here’s why those people are wrong.

To answer these questions and more, I read the entire Twilight-Saga. Twice. I watched the movies 37 times. I read 3.000 pages of psychoanalysis and 8.000 pages of queer and radical feminist theory.
